More Spring Engagement love! Bakersfield Wedding Photographer

Ok, so y'all get that I love engagement sessions...and I love the spring time, so today I present some very 'springy' beautiful wildflower/blue sky engagement photos! I got the opportunity to head out to Wind Wolves Preserve with Ron & Barbara for a beautiful afternoon. It was so relaxing and easy-going.....my favorite kind of day! Can't wait for the wedding! Yes...the sky was that blue and yes, there is snow on the mountains behind us!

Engagement photos - Bakersfield Wedding Photographer

I love engagement sessions...I really do. It's so fun for me to get creative and use my photography skills (and hilarious joke-telling skills, oh yeah I said it.) to showcase the unique love between two people. I got a call a few weeks ago from Peggy to do some engagement photos before their out of town wedding and really enjoyed meeting these two 'rock-stars'. We'll also be doing a post-wedding photo shoot that I'm really looking forward to that includes a kilt! *No trees were harmed by Jessica during this shoot....names were changed, but we didn't do the carving! *Plug for my bride...go visit her salon, Bella Donna downtown by the Fox Theater and tell her I sent you!

Freyday Free-for all - Bakersfield Photographer

It's Freyday!! Hi everyone...hope this week has gone well for you all. I've been so blessed to be busy with some amazing clients. Lots of engagement shoots to share in the upcoming weeks now that wedding season is upon us (I was also told it's now "fishing season" as well for those of you not into 'wedding season' haha!) . One of the best parts about my job is the fact that I get to combine photography with traveling...and today is one of those days! I'm in the beautiful city of San Francisco visiting family and getting to take more pictures of my cousin's beautiful daughter..... We got to enjoy some family time and take in the views...how stunning is this view?! Have a wonderful weekend everyone and happy Freyday!

Modeling session - Bakersfield Photographer

While in Vegas for WPPI, I got to meet up with my good friend Beth from Austin. :) It's so awesome getting to see her after 12 long years and getting the chance to re-connect with big hugs and a photo shoot! She's currently at the Rio and brought along her friend Amanda to do a quick photo shoot with Jennifer Williams and I for portfolio work. Here are all of my favorites...these girls worked it out and we had so much fun! Thanks again Beth and Mu :)
Our turn to be models...thanks Beth for taking this shot!
We found such a cool location to work with near our original spot, the Gypsy Den. Maureen, the owner, was gracious enough to let us come hang out in the eclectic array of chairs, doors, and awesome props. It took us a while to notice this Stratosphere wall connected with the real thing! How cool is that?

Freyday post of Family Photos - Bakersfield Photographer

Happy Freyday everyone! Since taking a week off to focus at WPPI, I'm now playing catch up with my amazing clients from the week prior....so, no Freyday post again today (I know, you're sad..it's okay) but instead, I have the awesome R. family I had the pleasure of photographing in one of Bakersfield's beautiful almond orchards. With the addition of another beautiful baby girl to the family they wanted to take some casual portraits that showcased their loving family. Here are a few of my favorites....R. family, thank you so much for a really fun session! For more information on my 'lifestyle' photo shoots, check out my website: www.JessicaFreyPhotography.com or email me for more information! Santa Barbara Engagements - Wedding Photographer

Before leaving for WPPI, I had the opportunity to see one of my brides that currently lives in Virginia. She was home for a few days and asked if we could do their engagement photos in Santa Barbara where these two love birds met. Santa Barbara is one of my favorite cities in California and of course we had the perfect day of 70 degree weather and the warm California sun to work with! It was evident from the moment I jumped in the car with these two how happy and in love they are...it radiated as bright as the sun all day as Matt continued to keep a gorgeous smile on Jenny's face. Thanks you two for sharing stories with me, for showing me what "The Spot" hamburger was, for driving slowly around treacherous curves, and for a wonderful day ended in a stunning sunset! I can't wait for your wedding!
We had some fun in a candy store/gift shop....
And then hit the beach where they would hang out after classes...what a life :) Then top it all off with a great little hike and this awesome spot up in the mountains to watch the sunset:
