2010 Vows Cover - Bakersfield Life Magazine

Some of you who follow my Facebook Fan Page and Twitter know how excited I am for this photoshoot to come out! The Bakersfield Californian/Bakrsfield Life released the 2010 VOWS wedding planner in Saturday's newspaper. It will also be around town and distributed all year long at bridal events. If you want to see all the photos from this shoot (so many amazing shots that couldn't make the magazine) check them out here: Jessica Frey Photography or this blog: Bridal Portraits.

I enjoyed this shoot so much and was so excited to execute the concept of 'elegant/rustic' wedding in my mind onto paper. Juliane did an amazing job, and the bouqet Amanda made was such an awesome touch to really give it the full rustic elegance I was shooting for! Of couse I'd like to thank everyone again for their help in making this a sucessful cover shoot!

Nutcracker Photos - Bakersfield Photographer

A few weeks ago, I got the chance to take photos for an article the Bakersfield Life Magazine was doing on our local Nutcracker performance. I really enjoyed meeting these amazing dancers as they performed bits from their performances for me to capture.

Warming up and getting ready.... To view the magazine online, visit http://www.bakersfieldlife.com/.

If you would like to view all of the photos taken of the Nutcracker performers at the Civic Dance Center, please visit Jessica FreyPhotography.

Bakersfield Life Magazine shoot

Well, this month I had the awesome privilege of photographing and meeting 5 amazing female surgeons here in Bakersfield. The Bakersfield Life Magazine is doing an article on them for the upcoming November issue and asked me to photograph them for a 4 page spread. The best part was throwing on a 'bunny' suit and meeting them inside of an OR at Kern Medical Center to shoot a group shot. I guess I can now say that was the most sterile photo shoot I've ever done! Here I am prepping for the lighting with a self portrait... and here's the timer shot where I ran onto the table....good thing no one had any scalpels in their hands!

Bakersfield Life Magazine shoot & KC FAIR

UPDATE: The October issue of Bakersfield Life is online! Click here and turn to page 39-51!

Earlier this month, I got the opportunity to shoot a Car Spread for Bakersfield Life Magazine. We had 7 cars each in a different location that had a local, Bakersfield feel....Alley Cat, Nile & Fox theatre, etc. Then I got to shoot all 7 cars together in a field I found just south of town. And yes, I am standing on my husband's "farm truck" to get a better view! Here are a few actions shots that Eric got and if you want to see the final 8 page spread, check out the new magazine coming out tomorrow, Sat. Sept 26th! Enjoy and keep scrolliing for some photos and my announcement from the Kern County Fair! These farmers were nice enough to stop bailing the alphalpha for us so I could get the shot...however I think the photo being used is the one I got with a bailer in it!
Here's me when I found out that my Mt. Rushmore photo won Best in Show at the Kern County Fair!!
