Freyday full of Disneyland!

Happy Freyday! Today's post is all about my trip to a land where wearing sparkly tiaras is acceptable and encouraged :) Ever since I was a little girl, I've been passionate about the magic that is Disney and as long as I can remember, I've been drawn to the pure joy and excitement that you feel when you walk through the gates into the park. It doesn't matter that I've been there 100 times or even worked at Disney World...I still become full of happiness and instantly become full of wonderment as I walk into my happy place. For the past 6 years, I've tried to go in May to celebrate my birthday to the fullest and was excited we were able to make that happen again this year :)
My wonderful husband met me while I was working at WDW, so he knew what he was getting into...and no, Eric, it wasn't a phase ;) He's still my Prince Charming and puts up with a 28 year old wanting (needing?) to walk around with the biggest, sparkliest, coolest tiara ever. Here are a few photos from our trip along with some 'artistic' balloon photos I managed at the end of the day.
***For any of my clients or friends...I am now the PROUD owner of a Southern CA Annual Pass, so let me know if you ever want to head to Anaheim on a weekday!I used to work in ToonTown (at WDW) with all of the characters and it still holds a special place in my heart :)

Up next week: One of the sweetest families I've ever photographed who love to read books and a very cool HS senior shoot with lots of color and more bangles than I've ever seen!

Have a great weekend!

Solvang Trip - Bakersfield Photographer

For those of you who live in CA, do you ever see those billboards along the 5 for Andersen's Famous Pea Soup? Well, after finding a free weekend and wanting to spend some quality time with the hubby, we decided to head the 3 hours to Solvang where this pea soup is and the cutest little Dutch settlement. Surprisingly enough to my mother, I ordered the pea soup and actually really enjoyed it! Of course I documented our fun to share with you all! Enjoy!
It doesn't look fantastic, but it actually is...good thing they're famous for it!
We rocked it in the gift shop. I heart Pea Soup!
Here it is...settled a long time ago and super cute!
Enjoying some Dutch/Belguim? hot chocolate and coffee.....whip cream, yes please!
Can you tell we're the touristy people who actually do the 'face in the cut-out'?!
Yes please, I'd like to try on some of your wooden shoes. They knew we were coming and had both my size and Eric size just on the floor waiting for our feet.

Central California Photography Safari!

Two weekends ago, another photographer and I drove leisurely up the California Coast looking for beautiful things to photograph! We started in Cambria, CA and ended up in Big Sur. It was a cold weekend (nice change of pace from the Bakersfield HEAT!) but there was SO much fog covering up the ocean and coastline...so, here are some inland photos and a few coast pictures. Enjoy!!! p.s. if anyone is looking to get married at a cute location check the Cambra Pines Lodge out! The Big Sur bridge...I named these two beautiful horses Butterscotch and Reese's...
This was the most picturesque farm home I've ever seen!

An old farm truck that was begging to be photographed.
Another bridge, School house down from Hearst Castle, and some beautiful red leaves.
Just a few of the amazing flowers at the Cambria Pines Lodge:

Wedding at Tenaya Lodge

A beautiful day, a beautiful location, a beautiful bride & groom....it can only make for beautiful wedding photos. I had gotten to know the bride and groom through a family portrait session we did and was more than happy to capture their special day together. Here is a quick look at the photos from Colby and Julie's wedding out at Tenaya Lodge near Yosemite. To Julie & Colby's guests...photos will be available to view on my website 2-3 weeks after the wedding, thanks!

Santa Monica photo trip!

What a beautiful location!! I spent a good part of the week hanging out in Santa Monica/Venice Beach/Marina del Ray...and of course took my camera everywhere! I also managed to get quite a sunburn, but that's a lesson for another day! Enjoy the photos...and future/current clients...if you EVER want to do a photo session on the AWESOME pier, let me know! I will always be game to do a shoot there for engagements, senior portraits, headshots, family fun photo sessions, you name it!
