Doggy Photo Shoot!
Our wonderful pet sitters, the owners of Kern County Fetch Pet Care, asked me to shoot their babies this past week. We had a blast playing at a dog park and catching them being themselves...here's a few from their shoot!

Flake/Ball Wedding
Flake/Ball Wedding photos are finally up! I had the pleasure of photographing my great friend Daniel's wedding to his beautiful bride, Megan. Andria Schwind of Summerlea Studios assisted me in what was a beautiful, relaxing day in Alabama. Thanks Daniel and Megan for allowing us to capture your special day!

Last week, Eric and I drove up to beautiful Monterey, CA for the 4th Annual Better Photo Summit. People from all over the nation came for a day long, information intensive seminar from 8 of the best photographers in America. I was so excited and learned so much that is already helping me in my technical skills and composition.

On another note, I also have a new lising in the Kern County Premier Bride magazine and online magazine...featuring Katy and Drew, Sammy and James, and Sarah and Sean. You can view the ad at: http://www.premierbride.com/bakersfield/listings.php?category=40
It's been a great month and I'm excited to be off to Florida to shoot Daniel and Megan's wedding this weekend!

The best news of all though was right after lunch. For the previous 2 months, you could submit as many photos as you like for the annual photo contest. No categories....anything you'd like. Well, they showcased the 15 Finalist Photos and then moved on to showcase 3rd place....and my photo appeared on the screen! I was so excited to have won 3rd place in a nation-wide photo contest surrounded by people whom I admire and was learning from! I'm sure you're curious, so here's the picture:We had a wonderful trip and used Sunday to drive the 17-mile drive down to Carmel through Pebble Beach. Here's a few pictures for you....

Homecoming!
This past Friday, part of Eric's reserve company returned from a 7 month deployment to Djibuti. I was able to capture a lot of emotional, awesome photos that are now up on the website. Also under my new category for "Events" is a folder for images taken at the Bakersfield Volkslauf Mud Run. It was an amazing experience to watch over 2000 people run this endurance 5K and 10K that the Marine's hosted.
So, go check out the photos...they're set to music if you click on the word "slideshow".
Thanks!

D.C. Contest
It's been another week of updating the website and making the flow of things easier to use...along with my final week of class! I wanted to share with you the photo that I selected to be entered in the FotoWeek in Washington D.C. It had to be something that represented the "Spirit of D.C.". After spending quite a lot of time there, and loving the photographic opportunities, I chose this one:
I recently had my professional lab blow this picture up, and am still amazed at how I captured what I feel is the essence of D.C. with 4 different monuments lit up at night.
This has led to a change on the website and I've categorized the images for sale into different folders so that those of you who are drawn to the travel photos of D.C., NYC, Yosemite, or any of the other fun locations I go to, can easily access them. If you're interested in seeing my other D.C. photos, head on over to the Travel Gallery inside the "Images for Sale". Thanks for looking! Have a great week!
